The University of Southern Mississippi has joined more than 640 institutions of higher learning from across the country on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for 2012.

Southern Miss was named to the prestigious Honor Roll for its work in a variety of service activities, including volunteerism and academic service learning. Southern Miss works with more than 100 community partners in the Pine Belt region and beyond.

“The return of Southern Miss to the President’s Honor Roll is a positive reflection of our caring and action oriented students and faculty,” said Dr. Joe Paul, vice president for student affairs. “Student volunteerism is at an all-time high and our community service learning faculty fellows are making a tremendous impact in enriching the learning of their students.”
