The following is a press release from William Carey University:

The William Carey University Winters School of Music presented “A Service of Thanksgiving” on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in Smith Auditorium. The service featured music by the Oratorio Choir, the Carey Chorale, the Symphonic Winds, and the orchestra. The Oratorio Choir consists of Katelyn Farris of Petal as soprano, Brandy Cramer of Gulfport as alto, Austin Williams of Carriere as tenor and Carolos Casilla of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as bass. The dean of the Winters School of Music, Dr. Don Odom, serves as conductor, and Kathy Vail and Tim Dail serve as accompanists. Symphonic Winds are led by Conductor Wes Dykes. Music included the Bruckner Te Deum and the Vaughn Williams Song of Thanksgiving.

Jim Armstrong, assistant professor of music, Dr. Brett Golson, coordinator of bi-vocational programs and assistant professor of religion, Elaine Byrd, assistant professor of music, and Jim Pierce, assistant professor of music therapy, led prayers of thanksgiving and readings of scripture during the service.
