Library and Information Science Program earns continued accreditation | Schools

The School of Library and Information Science at The University of Southern Mississippi has been granted continued accreditation for its master of library and information science degree program to 2019. The school is headquartered in the College of Education and Psychology.

Continuously accredited since 1980, the SLIS program at Southern Miss is one of only 63 such accredited programs in North America. The school was visited by an external review team in February as part of the accreditation review.  

“Continued accreditation is a reflection of the quality of our program, and the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff and the efforts of all of our supporting constituencies,” said SLIS director Dr. Melanie Norton.
