The following is a press release from William Carey University:

William Carey University honored its employees at the Faculty and Staff General Assembly on August 23. Dr. Tommy King, president of WCU, led the assembly, which included introduction of new faculty and staff, presentation of service awards, a challenge to the WCU family and presentation on legal issues by Robert Addison, a William Carey University Trustee and attorney at law with Daniel Coker & Bell, P.A., and a blessing of the 2012-2013 school year by Dr. Daniel Caldwell, dean of the Cooper School of Missions and Biblical Studies. Faculty and staff from the Hattiesburg, Biloxi and New Orleans campuses were  in attendance. Service awards of five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 45 years were presented to honor employees’ dedication to Carey. A buffet luncheon followed the assembly.

(Not pictured) Five year awards were also presented to Valerie Bridgeforth, administrative director of housing; Kerry Cameron, assistant director for student marketing, Tradition campus; Cynthia Domino, administrative assistant for nursing, New Orleans; Renee Extine, data specialist for admissions; Charlotte Green, administrative assistant to the president; Daron Lawless, building mechanic; Tim Morris, annual fund director and special gifts officer; Glenn Newell, building mechanic; Dolores O’Mary, administrative assistant for department of language and literature; Sonya Seals, administrative assistant for nursing, Tradition; and Diane Williams, lecturer in psychology and counseling.

SECOND PHOTO: Twenty year awards were presented to (front, left to right) Dr. Read Diket, professor of art and education; Dr. June Hornsby, professor of education and director of teacher internships; Dr. Rebecca Jordan, associate professor of language and literature, and Dr. Allison Chestnut, associate professor of language and literature. (back, left to right) A 25 years award was presented to Jimmy Myers, instructor of history and serials librarian, and a 30 years award was presented to Steve Knight, head coach of the men’s basketball team, director of intercollegiate athletics, and assistant professor of physical education. (Not pictured) Twenty year awards were also presented to Jerry Bracey, administrative dean, director of business services and recruiting, and lecturer in business administration, Tradition campus; Robin Dickens, grounds team leader; DeDe Dukes, accounts payable specialist, and Loretta Watkins, financial aid and pell grant specialist. A 45 years award was presented to Benjamin Waddle, professor of health, physical education, and recreation.
