WCU recognizes scholarship donors and recipients

Cameron Moesta of Carriere, a junior at WCU, was recognized for receiving The Bob Crumpton Scholarship for theatre majors at Honors Day 2012. This scholarship was established in memory of the civic and denominational leader Bob Crumpton of Pensacola, Fla.

Deepali Amatya of Lalitpur, Nepal, received The Randall K. Harris Scholarship for biology majors at Honors Day 2012. This scholarship was established in 2009 in honor of Dr. Harris, professor of biology and microbiology at WCU.

Ejane Janssen of Wiggins was recognized for receiving The Sadie H. Hopkins Memorial Scholarship at Honors Day 2012. This fund was established in 1984 in memory of Mrs. Sadie Haga Hopkins, the mother of Mrs. J. Ralph Noonkester.

Madeline Jill Reece of Grenada was recognized for receiving The Wallace M. and Jackie T. Malone Choral Scholarship at Honors Day 2012. This scholarship was established by Dr. Mark Malone, professor of music at WCU, in honor and memory of his parents. The award is given to a music student who plans to teach at the pre-college level and has earned a GPA of a 3.0 or higher.

William Carey University recognized endowed scholarship donors and recipients at the Honors Day Convocation held recently on the Hattiesburg campus. A total of 144 endowed scholarships benefiting 326 students were awarded during 2011 – 2012.
